As those of you who've been looking to hide your JDM 4-1 headers under the shroud of OEM goodness already know, JDM ITR upper heat shields have been MIA for months. I have managed to get a few of these babies, BNIB! $120 shipped (in the US...outside US, ask and I'll give you a shipping quote). First come, first served.

120? damn thats some change for a heatshield! I need one but I don't think I'm willing to fork out 120 for a shield when I paid 30 more for the header!

 

Retailers are still selling these for 85 plus shipping. Willing to make a deal?

 

Sold 2 already. If you call your favorite JDM retailers and see if they have any in stock, you'll find that they don't.
I waited months for my shield before I gave up and canceled my order. I got a friend in Japan to get one for me and ship it to me. While he was at it, he was able to get me 5 more, so I had him get them as well. I'm not a JDM store that ships stuff on pallets. It's USPS for me (express mail, to boot), and that costs money.

So, $120 shipped is more than JDM shops sell them for (not by much, mind you), but my costs were higher to get them here...and I have them now.

I see nothing on their web site. Did you call to confirm this? $60 is cheap for a new one. Used, maybe. But still, I don't see any there.

I found upper and lower brand new 50 shipped.

 

i don't get on their website often. if i need something i usually just call and talk to steve, when i bought mine he said he had quite a few in stock

 

Was it in stock? Did you buy it? Where? $50 shipped is an insane deal for a new one and if you really found an upper heat shield in stock for that price, more power to you.

A lot of people sell them and will happily take your money now and let you wait until their next shipment arrives. I placed an order with jhpusa (who shows it in stock) and waited 3 months before I canceled my order. My advice to anyone who sees it "in stock" on a dealer's site is to call to be sure they actually have it. I even did this with jhpusa and they said they had it. A week went by and no shield. I called back. "oh, yeah, that shield is on backorder".

I was not amused.

Anyway, I have these in hand. Not on indefinite backorder.

I just talked to Steve at Hmotors while ordering something else from him and asked him if he had any heat shields. Nope, he's out..and has been for awhile. When he has them to sell, he sells them for $75 plus shipping, not $60. He said if you buy the full header/heat shield combo, he sells the heat shield for $65.

I called the other two sites mentioned by Locrien. Options told me it's "special order only", so you know what that means...be prepared to wait.

KNN's number has been disconnected, so I would imagine ordering from them is out.

That's an amazing deal given that I paid $300 plus shipping for mine w/o the heat shield. This one with the heat shields just sold for $450.

I guess everyone gets an amazing deal every once in awhile, but most of us pay what the market demands.
