YES THERE IS A CO PART AND IAAI right in SAN BERNARDINO .It's hella easy to get ur dealers license . and if you went to a few auction yards and seen some TYPE-R 'S in there you sould tell us where they are if you arent pickin one of them up so they can be saved by another fellow R owner !all the fees are different every where cause of tax . so check with one of the auction sites I had listed above and ask someone from there !
business licenses and permits are regulated by state governments. start here:

type "automobile dealer" in the box, and hit continue.
in pennsylvania, the requirements force people to put a lot of money on the line to make it happen. for example, you can't sell 3 cars without a license, but you can't get a license without a building and a sign in the air. this makes it hard for someone to wheel and deal until they have enough cash to open up a shop.

I have a Georgia dealer's license, and it certainly isn't easy to obtain. You have to be bonded (which is a considerable cost), insured, have an actual place of business with an office and a phone line, and the property on which the lot is located has to be of a certain acreage. It may be different in California, but down here it wouldn't be feasible to get a dealer's license just to buy a couple cars at auction. It would only make sense to pursue getting one if you're going to use it for business purposes. Plus, most salvage sales like Copart & IAA are open to public buyers. Otherwise, just find someone who is already licensed and pay them a fee to buy under their name.
