How much clearance is necessary between the fender and tire? Does it look like I have enough room to safely run these slicks? It is a pretty small gap and I am worried that I may tear the slicks up.

 

Not even close... You need to raise it up about an inch at least. Unless you want to cut a tire at the top end and possibly hurt yourself and others, leave it.

 

Ha ha, that is what I figured, but I need a full inch of clearance?

Yea, somewhere around an inch would be nice.

I had this much clearance, and it rubbed. Raised it about a half inch more, and it was good. But I need to repaint my fenders, after it rubbed the first time.


[EDIT] Im sitting about this high now. I would say its about 1.5" clearance. But like M&H said, 2" might be a good idea. You just want to make sure you will have room for the growth. And also, when you let off after the traps, the front end comes down pretty hard.

 

Okay, I will see what I can do. It is on coilovers so it will be easy to raise up. Thanks guys.
