Default Trying to break 200HP B18C5 W/ Bolt on's

im trying to break the 200hp mark just with bolt on's and no internal work done i was wondering if anyone has done that

so far on a stock motor tuned on Neptune with I/H/E/buddy club Camgears it made 187hp 138tq 93 octane pump gas with a Comptech header its a bone stock B18c5

my plans to reach 200hp+ are wondering if its achievable with my parts list

68mm omni power throttle body
Hondata Intake mani gasket
2.5 intake W/Velocity Stack
Blox FPR
CTR N1 single belt crank puller
RC 310cc injectors
RMF Narrow Header
REtune

has Anyone hit 200+ hp with just bolt ons??? im really trying to do it with no internals

I would stay with that header and do the FJIC 550 injectors better spray pattern and 4inch velocity stack transition to 3inches to the tb don't get a fpr b/c the tuning will take care of that and u should be close.

Also did the cam gears get tuned yet or are they just set at 0.

there set at 0 still i was confused when i got my car tuned becuaes he didnt mess with my cam gears at all .... and i dunno if it's prefrance some people tell me like my tuner to go with RMF narrow or kid racing header some people say to go with JDM ITR's and last but not least others tell me to stay with my Comptech 4-1 header

If u get a header get the JDM itr's but i don't think u will see a big increase so i say stay with ur current header. And with cam gears tuned and a 3 or 4 inch cold air intake piping and more tuning u should be close.

And also u prob might have to tell the tuner that u want the cam gears tuned with the tune also but i would ask him for a quote b/c it will equal more time on the dyno.

And make sure the 3inch velocity stack with the 3inch piping get's work in there also that will help net some hp and tq gains also. And a 3inch exhaust wouldn't hurt u at all.

dont get the victor,i would send of the itr and have it cut ported and rewelded, you should see good gains with that. i would stick with the comptech if its a 4-1 as long as it has a 2.5 inch header!! also get the 3inch intake pipe and velocity stack. also a something bigger than a 2.5 inch exhaust would help!!!make sure he moves the cam gears also. good luck and dont spend money where you dont need it

I F****** swear!!!

After 10 years, every possible mod ever posted on here, never yet to put one down 199hp at the wheels....lol

Must be the air in florida or our dyno need to be rigged!!!

Looking at this thread makes me think it's years old.. There are dyno plot's out there that show you do not make as much power with a jdm itr header as you would with an RMF, etc

Check out VTECkidd's threads there are dyno sheet's in there as well.

In for some all motor heads providing accurate information.

IMO you don't get a legit 200 whp out of a stock itr motor.

I've been there and tried many different combinations.....

Now with headwork and good bolt-ons, I definitely think its possible.

I have never been on a dyno with my Honda but I have a J-spec ITR swap

RMF replica header
AEM 3 inch intake with velocity stack
Cut-out behind header

My car weighs 2,340 lbs with me in it and traps 103mph with a density altitude that is often over 5000ft.

My SAE corrected numbers would have to be very near 200whp.

BTW: The RMF replica was worth 1.5 tenths in the 1/8th mile un-tuned over the 4 to 1 JDM ITR header on my car.

Does headwork count as internal work to you? If not, do it.

Good, custom header
Good , Custom 3'' exhaust
Good custom manifold
Good custom intake with vstack, and tuned length.
a set of 310cc injectors
Good 68mm TB..

everything being port matched
and a good tuner that can tune a aggressive ign.. and ya, its possible notice the key word though.
"good custom"..off the self parts are going to be hard..

PerformerX with a 68mm tb, i'd go with a good 3.5'' intake setup and a vstack, you need to run a header like bishi, rmf or smsp for sure, and run a 3'' exhaust.. its possible..

What's up Bert-O !!!! YOYOYOYOYO.

In either case is the 200whp a goal or is there any other purpose behind it overall ? In all honestly 200whp in one dyno may be 206 whp on another dyno, you just don't know what you will get that day. But I can tell you for sure you will not get it with bold on's. As anyone else mentioned, plus some head work and some TB work you might get there, but that's more than simply bolt ons.

the purpose is i want to do it with NO internal work meaning, head work, block etc
just bolt ons header, intake, throttlebody, camgears, exhuast, good ported intake mani etc etc you get the point

well this is currently my setup i have to get some funds ready and contact my tuner and get a retune after all i got left to do is get a intake mani wich im in research i think im going with edlebrock performer X port matched ill post my old setup dyno sheet and new dyno sheet once i finish getting the parts

well

cams can be considered boltons.
you unbolt the old cams and bolt on the new ones and tune.

since you gonna replace cam gears, replacing cams is just one more step

if the cams are not too crazy you dont need to do any other work.
a set of good cams and adjustable cam gears would do good for the power wouldnt it?

do you consider portmatching TB and IM internal work? those are pretty simple mods to do.

I would do a little more research. The Skunk2 Pro is a better match than the PerformerX for your set-up. With the ITR compression of 11:1 and ITR cams the smaller plenum of the Skunk2 will be much better.
Look for people who have the PX with ITR cams, Skunk2 Stage1, Buddy Club Spec 3+.
On my car when I went to the PX I initially only made 3whp more and lost 22ftlbs after a bunch more tuning I am up to 6whp to 190whp and still on down 10ftlbs. I am running ITR cams.

i made 198whp with just my header and a tune. STOCK ITR MOTOR not mods besides my header.

I made 202whp/139 with Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, Skunk2 intake manifold, 68mm TB (i gained a ton of power up top , my powerband increased almost 700RPM (i could rev to 8500 and still be making power with the Stage 2 cams).

I made 239/160 with 5psi JRSC

I think you have the right header, personally i would not change the cams now. I would make sure you have a good 2.5in exhuast, no cat, dyno and tune it see where you are at first.

ive seen STOCK iTRs make 175whp, and some make 195whp. depending on how old and how healthy your motor is, and whether the guy assembling it that day gave a crap or not

Are you able to post of before and after graph of this. Would like to see the improvements in the curve.
