throttlebody spacer?
i have been wondering the same, otek. i picked up a p2r spacer and gaskets for my b16 having been told it would fit, but my b16 is obd1 and the spacer was obd2, so i ordered a blox 65mm obd2 tb and im kinda wondering what my gains would be on a b16a with this tb/spacer. im running a b16a turbo on 9 psi. i really need to up my exhaust to 3", im hoping the bigger tb will create more suck and help the turbo to spool a lil faster, any input?
it can make a slight difference and most likely it will be response. but dont count of making a 10hp gain from the tb and as for a spacer... i have done research and a spacer just adds less throttle cable loose ends. so in theory if you get some zip ties and make sure that your throttle cable isnt loose at all you will see no difference from that and buying a spacer.!!! just trying to help you save some money
yeah, i grabbed my spacer from a buddy who was gonna throw it away, and i always hoard parts, i almost have an entire care in my storage shed, lol, but as i said before turns out its for an obd2, so i have a blox 65mm on the way thats 0bd2, i tried selling it but lol no1 wants to buy a spacer, not even for 5 bucks.
Don't use one. They give you very little power and eventually your Throttle Body Gasket will go out, which then can leak coolant into your Intake Manifold and etc. Not worth it in my opinion.
yeah, thats what ive been hearing too, but i think p2r has solved that problem, they have polyurethane gaskets and if you create a sandwich of those gaskets combined with some good tb gaskets, and hondabond you can achieve a good seal, lol. but that would mean buyin 4 stock paper gaskets, im just being precocious, but yes i have heard the same about leakage, moreless just wanted to see if anyone had used one and if they would use one again. i got one laying around and cant sell it, and i dont wanna just throw it away.

Did you buy some snake oil too?
I think TB spacers are garbage. You'll never find any dyno plots to support the theory that they make whp, and the whole "throttle response" thing is unfounded from the ones I've seen personally come through my shop.
Just saying...

lol, yeah picked up soome muffler bearings and red light fluid too, my brake lights were pinking out. yeah, like i said before, my buddy was gonna throw it away and i figured wth, ill try it and if it dont do anything, then ill throw it away, i think the concept is made more for larger engines like big pick-ups with big block v8's for more throttle reponse, but i think ima see most if any from the larger tb.
