Take baking soda, and pretty much just place it in random spots of the car. Also leave your windows down, and the trunk open to let the car air-out.
If this doesent work, Your going to need to wash your carpet.

Alright even though I already washed the carpet,do i just let the baking soda sit there?if so for how long?then vaccum it up or what I never heard of doing that.
To save money, I steam cleaned it. You can rent one from any grocery store. Took me about an hour to do it and it looks great; actually almost new. If that doesn't work, take the carpet out and go to a "power wash" car wash and hang the mat up and blast away. The amount of black water that will run off will make you sick. Hope that helps!
You can also use regular old oxy-clean and shop vacuum to shampoo and extract the fluid from carpeting.
Hit up your moms cleaning closet or under the sink or whatever.

ye, I'd rather keep my beat up carpet then get a new one, new ones are expensive as hell, correct me if I'm wrong but they can run you $300+\-..
if it were me, I'd take the carpet out, soak it, use some sort of carpet shampoo (or dish soap lol), hand scrub it, then rinse.. don't put it in until you know it smells good. baking soda works well too
