Hey guys,
I was in the market for Koni Yellow/Ground Control set-up for my 89 CRX that will be used primarily as weekend warrior/ autocross car. While looking for deals, I found a used Ground Control set in great condition for for a smokin deal. The only down side is that the GC unit does not fit Koni Yellow.
So I started looking into options as I want to keep expenses to a min.
From Ground Control's website, this kit will fit the following: stock, Sachs, Boge, Tokico Premium Performance , Tokico Illumina, Koni, Bilstein, KYB , KYB AGX, or GAB HPshocks
I had Tokico Illuminas with lowering springs before and while I really liked them for daily driving and occasional autocross, they weren't stiff enough for what I was looking for at the track. So I started looking into KYB AGXs as an alternate, but keep seeing the debate between them and Koni Yellows winning, and it sounds like they're pretty on-par with Illuminas anyway.
My question is, does anyone know of any other shocks that would fit these GC's that wouldn't break the bank and compare to Koni Yellows? Is paying $200-300 extra for Koni Yellows over getting a good deal on worth it?

it all comes down to price and what you need. bilstein is neat because they are cheap and easy to revalve. out of the box the illumina and agx are good moderate cost choices but the gc thing also comes down to the rates you're getting. if this deal doesn't have the spring rates you want it's not that great of a deal anymore.
some of the shocks gc lists aren't even easily available anymore, gab and boge come to mind
