91 crx. I have tried to bend it farther away from the pipe but the rattle came back half an hour later and its worse than before. I have tried wedging steel wool between the pipe and heat shield, that worked for one day.

Any suggestions?

Can I just remove it and stay safe? its the half moon shape heat shield towards the rear of the car, i have hesitated to remove it because the gas tank is on the other side of it.

 

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure you can remove it. Mine currently is hitting the short shifter the previous owner installed. So when I try to shift into 5th/R it hits the shield. Gotta stop being lazy and just remove it.
