So I had skunk2 coilovers sleves on stock struts on my ej2 and my friends ej1 with matrix coilovers on stock struts rode way better than my car so he got a better suspension and he gave me the matrix ones and I put them on my car and rides so much better. The car dosent bottom out at all and it's not bouncy at all..so why cheap eBay coilovers aré better than skunk2??

 

maybe his struts were in worse condition than yours..

also, everyone likes their own ride comfort different. what u might like, other dont. Im not into the ricer slammed look or ride.
my suspension has some give to it for rough roads.

also, wear has alot to do with it.. new springs ride better sometimes when they are new, then when they get some use and abuse, they dont perform like they did.. so theres alot of variable in there.

 

U didnt read my thread i said i have the skunk2 and the Matrix on my same stock struts and the matrix ride better than the skunk2 so I didn't change struts just sleves

 

^. You responded like you didn't read your own thread or his comment. He said nothing about your struts all except that your STOCK ones were maybe in better condition than his. Also, different driver, different feelings toward ride suspension.

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. But I'm assuming that it's because the Skunk2's are stiffer springs than the Matrix brand springs. And because of the stiffness difference, the Matrix ones are able to work better with the stock shocks? So the OP should upgrade his shocks, and solve the issue with the Skunk2's?
