1995 Del Sol Acceleration and Overheating Issues...
I have a 1995 Honda Del Sol Si, 5-speed with a D16Z6, 197k miles. Sometime in the past couple months, I don't know exactly when it started, it started having this problem where it barely accelerates at all, even in low gears and high rpm's. i end up over revving it just to attempt to keep up with traffic (which i still can't) and it uses tons of fuel. recently it started overheating along with that, i assume dude to the high rpm's it's always under. the CEL isn't on, and it isn't making any unusual sounds. occasionally, even with no one in front of me, my A/C will suddenly smell like exhaust for a minute or so, here's what i've done so far to try and fix it:
new plugs, NGK with proper gap of course
new wires
new distributor cap and rotor
new fuel filter
oil change
nothing's fixed it yet.
i heard after a distributor change you need to get the timing redone, could that be it?
i also read about loose o2 sensor wires being possible, or a clogged cat but i haven't had time to check.
any ideas?

sounds like transmission/clutch problems to me as well, as far as the loss of acceleration is concerned. with the overheating, Check your coolant level, radiator fan fuse, the fan itself, radiator cap, hoses, and thermostat.
