PM3-6 Head
I picked up an '88 HF body with a D15B2 block, Y8 IM and a PM3-6 head. I've looked for a long time and cannot find what the head is from. I found one person that has the same head on his CRX in England or something and no one seemed to be able to help him with it. I've seen where it says PM3 next to several cars but I've seen other references to PM3 with the trailing number being used for certain Civics, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I know what I'm working with. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Are you asking because you want to do porting or valve replacement? Or just for the sake of knowledge? I only ask because there were only 3 types of non-vtec castings for the D16/D15 that I know of. The early (88-91) had a small port 16 Valve, usually from the B2, and the larger port, SI or MPFI motors for the most part. The later (EG) had the B7 with either 8 Valve small port, or with the larger port 16 Valve. Aside from the port size, I believe the valve sizing was the same for all, only main difference was the cam selection.
it doesn't necessarily mean that its from a cam swap...i had that particular head from an old 91 zc sohc motor and currently a different head code on my new zc sohc motor...!!!
Guys, I appreciate the responses. I had a feeling it was a JDM head but wanted to know for sure. Should headers for a DX CRX head work on the head I have? This is the main reason I wanted to know besides understanding what I'm working with and what's inside of it.
All d15/16 heads arethe same as far as what will bolt up. As far as intake and headers. The only variant is vtec for the valvecovers and dizzy for the correct years. Oh, and those select few that had egr or were carbed and needed a blockoff plate.

Umm I bought a PM3-6 head for my 1993 Civic DX 3 Door Automatic D15B7 that is supposed to have a PM9 head and I am having ignition timing problems. My valve timing is correct along with distributor markings at TDC and TDC of the camshaft. My ignition timing needs more advancing and my distributor is at it's limit. Any help would be apreciated. The only thing I have not replaced on my engine is the igniter, coil, and spark plug wires. Do I need a PM9 head? I have set my valve timing retarded one tooth with good results for ignition timing but pour results for perfomance so I set it back to correct valve timing. My vacume reading says late ignition timing. This is frustrating but I know I will fix it soon. I need the car for college. Any ideas master techs hehe.
