Default ZC Swap

I've searched and I just couldn't find anything worthwhile, probably because most people make titles that don't relate to the subject matter at all.

With that said I have a few questions about the DOHC ZC swap.

-Is it a worthwhile swap, in your opinion? i.e. would you recommend it to a friend (just an example scenario)
-Does it have potential as an NA engine?
-Is $100 for a long block without cams a reasonable price? (I can get both cams for $50)

Since I have done a decent amount of searching...

-88-89 Integra ECU swap

Will it really give decent gains?

Same question goes for 88-89 cam swap

Thanks!

In my opinion it depends on your budget and what chassis you have. If you are tight on funds and just want moderate gains on an EF or AF chassis, then yes, it's worth it. If you are buying a DOHC ZC that is missing ANY parts whatsoever, be very careful as they parts are hard to find. Best of luck!

Well to go along with that I guess I should say what I have/am looking for

Have a 91 Si
My ultimate goal for the car is about 200 whp (for now I just want to break 100)

I have maybe $500 to execute the swap

I'm building my car to be a weekend fun car/ occasional autox/track car/ very occasional car show

Does that change anything?

if you can find a full running complete dohc zc with no issues at all, let me know lol. honestly, the swap is worth every penny put into it. im actually swapping in a dohc d16a1 from an integra, that i put dohc zc valveterrain, and internals in on a full rebuild with 0 miles. should be a fun ride when your done.

just in case you didn't already know, the 86-89 USDM Integra engine is not a DOHC ZC - it is a D16A1 and is not the same as the JDM DOHC ZC, only similar - the D16A1 does not bolt right into the ED/EF cars without fabricating a new driver's side mount and making a few other mods - most of the D16A1 engines are pretty much used up and would need to be rebuilt which can result in you having as much or more money in it than you would if you just purchased a JDM DOHC ZC from an engine importer - $500 is probably not going to get the job done, in any case
