Default D16/JRSC Intake Setups

Hey All,

I have a CRX with a d16/JRSC setup and it currently has a hideous intake setup. For those or you running a JRSC setup on your D16 or SOHC ZC setups, what short ram intakes are working for you? Instead or making one from random piping, I would like to know what setups are working out for you.

Here is a picture of the current setup. Note, I still have the battery in the factory location and I would like to keep it that way.

Thanks in advance,
-J

If you opt to lose the battery, something like this will work, its the route I went. The other option you have is go for the ebay special extended length intake that puts the filter in the fenderwell, and cut it up a lil bit. Also grab a 4-6 inch section of silicone pipe hose to match.

That's a very clean engine bay. Is that intake pipe/filter meant for any particular car?

Everyone is telling me to relocate the battery but I'm really trying to keep the interior as stock as possible. I think I will end up buying a smaller battery to keep it in the engine bay still.

I know it is rather overpriced, but so is everything else when you consider the value of the chassis we are bolting stuff into/onto. Look into the password:JDM battery relocation "box" and Odyssey PC680 battery. It remains in the engine bay but drops down to where you cant see it and its well out of the way of any intake setup you run.

Thanks for the compliment about the engine bay.

That link is the same intake I have, just was able to find it in black. I cut out the section I needed and didn't look back. As I said in my first post, you could just cut a lil off the section that would normally meet the standard intake manifold, and use the silicone connector to mate it up. Which is also why I said to grab a 6 inch section of silicon intake hose, but if you're not in a hurry, get the kit, mock it up, and if the provided coupler works well, awesome. If not, grab the additional hose and voila!

As for the PasswordJDM Battery relocation kit, not the first battery I would choose, but the kit would definatley make things easier. As for my battery, its still in the front of my car. And its an Optima Red Top, mounted sideways where the factory intake sat in the lower fenderwell. Anything is possible with a welder and some time. I'll grab a photo when I can for you.
