Default Direzza Z1 Star Spec Cold Pressure suggestion for HPDE

What cold pressures are you guys running front and rear? I am thinking 36 front and back, and if it understeers alot lower the pressure in the front little by little? The day will be hot at 95 degrees.

I am running Omnipower 12K front 10K rear with the stock itr swaybars. Any starting point suggestions would be good. Thanks in advance!

36 psi sounds a bit high to me, even assuming you're measuring tires that have been sitting in the shade for an hour at 95F (i.e. measured cold). I'm using R comps, and my pressures typically increase by about 8 psi from measured cold to measured hot, coming off the track. I don't know what your target hot pressures would be for the Star Spec, but the resulting 44 psi hot sounds high to me. I typically look for around 40 psi hot on my R comps, and I usually get there by starting at 32 psi cold.

If I remember right, when I had my star specs I started out 32F and 28R cold. This was for autocross though.

Skid pad testing for the recent GRM tire test indicated 40 lb as optimal for the Dunlop, warm (not stone cold, not sitting in the sun or coming off the course). --Andy

^^hmmm yah I ended up doing lowering the pressure. I waited about 10 mins after the first session (85 degrees outside) and set 38 F and 36R

The car felt planted the whole time at T-hill, but then again I was not driving at the limit since this is the first track day since the rebuild. But I thought it went okay. The tires never overheated on me or lost grip.

The last time I went out I was on AVS ES100 I had less money to spend on decent tires back then and these tires definitely make me MUCH more confident.

Toward the end of the day, braking for T14 the rear end would become pretty light and would sway ever so lightly when hard braking in a straight line. The whole rear of the car is gutted, so the rear end was getting light. I'm thinking that's more of a coilover setup issue and I might need to raise the front or lower the rear to put more weight on the back. I'm going to check in with Roger Krause to see if he can dial it in for me.

what trailing arm bushings are you using? Apparently a lot of people who run the ES bushings have the rear end wiggle problem.

OEM. Car has 30K on it. So I don't think it's the bushings. Moreso the balance front to rear of the car. Since the rear is gutted I need to put more weight on the back. The swaying wasn't violent at all. I could barely feel it walk maybe an inch from side to side swaying slowly.
