Today the passenger front seat in our 2002 Oddyssey quit holding it's seat back position. It appears that the teeth that hold position will not engage despite showing no wear. That seat has been reclined less than twenty times in it's life.

Any idea of it is a servicable item or if the dealership will tell me that I need a whole new seat? The mechanism is rivetted into the seat frame.

Look for Cheetos jamming things up, corrosion, squirt some break free in there. Dust and lint and Gremlins.

 

I don't know 2002 models. Is the passenger power seat? Did anyone spill soda near there? Maybe no one wants to fess up? My power seat did not want to move, so I sprayed some Simple Green into the seat control switch. It works now.
