I am placing a k20 into my 91 CRX. I have the engine, tranny, hasport mounts, harness and axles. I know I need an ECU and a couple more parts, but my biggest question is will a RSX-S ECU work for the swap? Really don't want to spend a bundle on a Hondata K Pro ECU.

If it's a US ECU you will need to do one of 3 things. K-Pro, Reflash, or get an immobilizer bypass kit.

 

When you say reflash, you mean send the stock RSX-S Ecu and have it flashed to my vehicle settings right?

 

yep... Hondata has a good reflash for that. If you are going to be keeping your motor relatively stock that may work well for you. Other wise for the money K-Pro can be a better value as you can remap it everytime you make changes to your set up.

 

just dont get a 06 or newer ecu they are drive by wire, with a mostly stock engine, just get the ktuned or hybrid racing Immobilizer bypass, you could also get a jdm type r ecu that does not have and immobilizer in it, this is what i'm gonna do untill i can buy k-pro

 

you mean 05 or new? cause then hes gonna need a adapter harness lol......... 02-04 is whats your looking for.

 

04 rsx ecu will work for you with an Immobilizer bypass, pretty sure civic switched to drive by wire in 06 and rsx in 05
