Hey HT, I don't know if anyone out there has had this problem before but I keep getting vibration in my drive-line when I accelerate hard. I have a b16 swap in my '89 hatch, and don't think its my axles/halfshaft/transmission that's the problem. The only reason I say this is because I just recently put in new '91 integra axles, a new '91 integra halfshaft and a completely rebuilt '93 USDM ys1 transmission. When I first put everything in it drove like butter.....there was only slight vibration and that was only at certain speeds on the highway (not in the drive-line or when I accelerated hard). It has just progressively been getting worse and worse. That leads me to believe that something else is wrong with my car that is making my axles/halfshaft wear out? I don't know if maybe my unibody is tweaked, or if my motor mounts are somehow unaligned, or my steering gear box is worn out, or my suspension is tweaked, or all of the above???? But I DO know that I can't keep replacing my axles and my halfshaft after they get worn out about every 2000 miles!!!
ANY help/input would be EXTREMELY helpful

The axles I have are warrantied for life, but like I said originally, I want to know whats CAUSING my axles to wear out. I know my axles are bad again already, but when I put my new tranny in I also put in BRAND NEW axles and a new halfshaft. So something else is wrong somewhere that keeps making my axles wear prematurely. I guess it could be my diff, except that I just had the transmission completely gone thru and rebuilt, so......?
Have seen many posts with axle history, get a different brand or keep changing the brand that you have until you get a good one. You do have to do the inspection first, is the inner joint loose. Of course there could be other issues but it sure sounds like inner joints.

I have the exact same problem with my 91 Si with an LS swap. First and second gear especially when I'm taking off and hit higher RPM's. I would love to know how to take care of this. Haven't check my axles for excessive wear but I too have new tie rods, ball joints, axles etc. Had it balanced and aligned. I'll be keeping up on the thread to see if anything new comes up. Mine also has progressively gotten more noticeable starting with no vibration really at first. Anyhow, if I figure anything out I'll be sure to let you know!

But at least now I know I'm not crazy and just dreaming this whole problem up LOL!!!
Mine actually got so bad that the passenger axle popped halfway out of the tranny and leaked out all of my tranny fluid on a 400 mile road trip which destroyed my trans (which is why I just recently replaced mine). Just thought I'd give you a heads up and to constantly check you're axles to make sure they're all the way in the tranny & halfshaft
Hopefully someone that has had this problem and diagnosed it 100% correctly can shed some light on this for us
ive done a few of these swaps and never had that problem,if u used ebay motor mounts thats prolly ur problem place racing or hasport mounts are all ive used and no shake even with used 92 integra axels

If you are using any type of re-maned axles they are junk. I had the same issues, went through a couple sets of "new" remans. Spent the money on a nice set of Gator axles and the problem instantly went away. No issues to date.

I had the exact same problem in my 91 hatch several years ago and after replacing everything else I found out my Place Racing mounts were the problem.
The placement of the engine was too far forward and caused awkward axle angles especially when lowered.
A buddy of mine had the same problem but his turned out to be the remanufactured axles as well. I always have my stock axles rebuilt when they go bad instead of buying replacement axles. If you can, buy a decent set of used OEM axles and make sure you are using the correct length. I am running OEM gsr axles and intermediate shaft w/Hasport mounts on my wagon for over two years now and have had zero issues. Good luck.

Do this in order:
1. Double check all suspension bots/nuts are tightened to correct torque.
2. check front and rear suspension boots (shake them around a little. There should be zero gap or clinking sound)
3. Make sure axles are all the way in.
4. Check brake pads for even wear and rotors for warpage.
5. Check rack and pinion.
