High Mileage LS able to handle mild cams?
Ive got a DA9 teg with 313k on the clock. The motor is strong. Comp#'s are top notch and it runs and drives great. I would like alittle more "oomph". So, I was thinking bolt-ons with a Crower valvetrain and 402 cams, OBD-1 conversion, and either Crome or Neptune.
Anyone think the motor wouldn't beable to handle the new found mods/power? I don't race the car. I do drive it hard sometimes, but it def needs more get-up-and-go (without swapping the motor).

The reason behind the complete valvetrain was the mileage. I don't want to risk breaking anything with the new setup. I appreciate the advice.
well after the upgrade you probably wont be taking it too easy on the engine. thats the whole point of increasing power, to go faster.
not because you want to save on gas...
so make sure your engine will last after the upgrades with more stress pu ton it.

Geez, after doing the figures I might as well do a B16 swap. I could always do thr hydro tranny later and stick with the cable tranny for now. It'd be a lot nicer considering the factory power and the fact most motors have 30-40k miles on them.

Or buy my Crower 404's and Crower valvetrain for less than a B16 swap (shameless plug)
