Default Why does my Greddy Kit hesistate between 4-6 RPM, and right after 5 psi of boost?

Ok,

I haven't had the kit on for more than a week and I haven't even driven the car when it ran perfect the first 3 days.

I got my Greddy Kit for my 96 GSR installed and while the mechanic and others were "testing" out the car, it ran perfect no hesitation or anything.

The first couple times I got on it, I blew off some pipes so I really never got a chance to drive it because I had to drop the bitch off to get her kit put on.

I picked her up today, and man, something is not right. Symptoms are as followed:

When I floor it, it seems to "bog" down and the car stutters or hesistates right after it passes 5 psi or gets between 4200 and 6000 RPM's

I am running everything that came with the kit

the fuel part of my set-up includes,

Gredddy 310 injectors
Greddy Blue Box
Stock everthing else

I'm not boosting past the recommended 7 psi, what's wrong?

me and another turbo buddy tried another fuel set-up today and it worked "better", we just used his Vortech FMU and it ran fine but a little rich and it slowed down tremendously at the higher RPM's

Turbos are a pain in my ***!

Re-check the wire connections from the blue box to the ecu. Make sure none of the wires were installed in reverse!

Get it dyno tunned, maybe that your getting a lil to much fuel or maybe timmings off. Check wiring and vac. sources. The dyno tune will help alot

Oh yeah,

Here's a funny part of my turbo install

When I bought the injectors, the person whom sold it to me told me that I had to buy some GSR clips from a 94-95 OBD1 system

I have a 96 Obd2 system, but the clips bolted right in, No questions asked maybe that's a reason?

Yet, I don't understand why it ran GREAT for two days and than bam!, runs like **** when I floor it, but when I slowly step on the gas, it boosts up fine!

i personally had problems with my first blue box. it woudl bog and stutter at exactly 1800 and then again at abour 2600 rpm, then be fine. i finally got greddy to send me another blue box. problem solved. i would check everythign else first, but it may in fact be the blue box.

u need more fuel. a pump. worked for me

i had the same symptoms gradual gas gave more boost, longer. flooring resulted in bogging.

Well

I'll call Greddy and see what they say

However, we tried an experiment today, We took off the blue box and jumped a wire, and just ran a 12:1 vortech FMU, VOILA!! no more problems

However, if I run the FMU set-up, I will need ..................... ?

what ration FMU? 12:1 or 10:1
Missing Link?
Inline or Intank fuel pump?

Let me know guys.

Thanks

agree 10:1 is fine with 310cc which you can get from a prelude.

I think he has the 310's already, but you will need the inline pump.

Damn might as well go with the new SBC, with my 450;s opinions?

so you're saying when u took off the fmu car ran better? if thats true then car boggs at high rpm becuase of too much fuel. get a fpr and turn it down some. and make sure your plugs are gapped at .030-.034. i had the same problem and it was too much fuel and it bogged. hope that helps you.

a friend had the same problem w/ his blue box...all he did was buy a fuel pump and that fixed it. So i sat just buy a pump and use it with the blue box, and if doesn't help, just get the FMU and missing link. Good luck.

I'm just curious that if I"m running too rich, and the box is dumping TOO much fuel than why would getting a higher flowing inline pump help the situation? Just wondering, but thanks for the input.
