They will fit, asuming they are both D series.

'92-'00 D series are all the same except some will have ABS rings and others won't, for obvious reasons.

cracks or clicks? a clicking axle is junk and needs to be replaced.

above poster is correct. if it clicks its junk. if its popping then maybe its not seated fully into the tranny or your spindle lock nut isnt tight enough. maybe you forgot to indent the lock ring into the keyway?
idk otherwise

Is it possible for you to either make a video of your issue, or give more detail? When you installed the axles, did you shove them in until they "clicked" into the tranny/differential or just push them in and put the axle nut on?

A friend of mine said that the 4 door was slightly wider than the 2 and 3 door models.
When I bought new axles for my old 4 door, they went in fine, they were seated and everything, but looked like the boots were pulled out kinda far. So I could see this being the case.

I'm not sure what you mean by "wider", but the part #s for '92-'95 coupe, sedan and hatch axles are the same at Majestic Honda.

Now I don't know if manual trans axles are the same as auto trans axles. I suspect they are different.

They'e also the same, although IIRC the auto ones have a rubber damper ring on the driver's side axle, same length and spline count though, i've been running automatic ABS axles in my 5 speed non ABS civic for years now.
