Default BIG scare!!!..2nd day boosting and...

so i just slapped on my greddy turbo kit with starion intercooler (thanks to jared) the other day. Its all hooked up, the only thing for fuel is the greddy 12:1 FMU and a missing link to hide boost from the map. SO i picked up my boost guage TODAY and put it on.. BAMM 8 PSI...i was scared shitless. I thought the whole time i was running around 4-6 psi. Thats like over 140lbs of fuel pressure on the stock pump! (I have a bosch inline i am hooking up tomorrow.

What I am wondering is how in the hell i didn't blow the sob up.I mean i gave it absolute HELL racing all around on 8pis wit hjust an FMU. No Audible Detonation. Some one explain this..

Thanks

first, you werent actually getting 140psi of fuel pressure, it probably stopped around 70 or whatever the limit of the stock pump is. the fmu can only increase pressure up to the pump's limit.

You would have also blown up your stock injectors at 140psi...

Hehe, how about "some honda owners are very lucky". Our stock pistons aren't very strong

He was no way in hell at no 70psi of fuel pressure 8psi + 12:1 fmu + stock pressure = 40psi (stock pressure) + 96psi (added from 12:1 fmu disc) = 136psi of fuel pressure at FULL boost.... stock pump won't pump past 60psi I believe so yes you were running HORIFFICALLY LEAN, and mabye a few pieces of tiny metal from sleeves and pistons/rings may have come off (when I say tiny I mean nearly microscopic) but looks like you didn't blow anything.

But please don't be a complete fuel and run a fmu setup without an inline again I assure you that lean condition will damage severe **** in your engine, you got lucky don't ever push that luck again. :D

Lucky Lucky Lucky... at 10 PSI on a 6:1 I pulled off this miracle

[edit]This was with a Shogun tuner turned up to the max(+30% fuel) as well [/edit]
