What I did was lowered the engine a little while it was still on it mounts. Then jammed that tool between the pulley ( which has the grooves inside for that tool) and "frame" of the car just in front of the crank pulley. You will see it when you take off the fender liner.
or you could just take a torch to your bolt, get it nice and hot, then the impact to it.. I've done it several times and never had any problems.. just sayin

I used an electric impact hammer drill gun last night on my h22. Works great. It was a snap-on 18 volt electric impact gun. I was sceptical at first but wow! Try to borrow one from somebody, i'm not sure if autoparts stores rent them out. It loosend my crank pulley bolt in 5 seconds.
I usually use the crank pulley holder tool with a 1/2 bar and then a long *** cheater bar but the electric impact is the way im doing it from now on, loosend the bolt without a fight.

That may be your only option now. Get the crank tool, get a couple of breakers ( one for the bolt, one for the crank tool), a strong/heavy friend, and a couple of cheater bars, and pop that sucker off.
I had to use the crank pulley tool to get mine off, but I'm a cheap *** so I had my buddy machine one for me. The thing works effin miracles.
oh ok. the engine is out of the car. sitting on my table. pistons are out and the rest of the stuff. so far the crank pully has given me the most trouble.
i just gotta get the crank out haha

I have a few ways to get that bolt out.
1. Is the jam the flywheel teeth. Works wonders
2. Is the Crank Pulley tool. I got mine from the general auto store for like 30 bucks. It came with a spot for a 1/2 socket wrench to fit directly in.

If you had bothered to read any of the other post other than the original you would see that those two options will not work. Block is out of the car, flywheel is also off. Altho The crank pulley tool will still work. You will just need one more person to hold the crank in place while using the crank tool.

Ignorant.
Blahahahahahahahah
Never in my life have I needed 2 people to get the crank pulley off with the crank pulley tool.
Hahahahahahah
I for a fact removed the crank pulley with the crank pulley tool with the flywheel off and the engine out of the car, atleast one time I strictly remember.
I dont see how you could have. Since the crank will still free wheel without something holding the tool in place to keep the crank in place. If anyone is ignorant that would be you.
