My crx started blowing warm air so I recharged it with r134 since the previous owner said it was already converted.apperently there is a leak from the compressor and it also squeeks so I want to replace it.my question is can I use a civic compressor like from an eg and just run r134 or I have to use a crx one?

 

Any have info?I've search with no result

 

I dont personally know if the compressor actually fits, but a compressor is a compressor. if it'll bolt up and fit and you get a belt that fits and the lines will match up you're good to go. Check for the wiring on compressor too. Why do you think the compresssor is bad BTW?

 

I believe that the previous owner just added r134 freon to a compressor that was made for r12 and he didn't empty out the system before he filled,if you put in freon you can hear escaping threw the compressor

 

The car either came with a Sanden or a Matshushita
and you should probably find out which one
is on it as the lines are different between the two..

There should be a tag on the compressor and
sometimes there will be one on the core support..

If you look at the lines where they connect to the compressor, if the angle they connect at, forms a "V" it's a sanden.
