93 GSR SNAPPED TIMING BELT HELP please.
Hello guys,
I noticed my car was lightly sputtering between 3000 and 4000 RPM when on the highway for two days. On the second day car turned off while i was on the highway and it turned out to be snapped timing belt.
I changed the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner and turned on the car. Idles perfectly but revving it and driving it sputtered alot.
I slipped the belt off and retimed it, adjusted the tensioner, adjusted tension on the alternator belt, same thing.
I changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, checked all vaccum lines and that everything is in place but same thing.
I changed the computer to my friend's and it revvs a little better but when driving does the same thing.
The last things i can think of are changing cap and rotor for the dizzy, and doing a compression test to check for bent valves.
My thought is that if it was a bent valve it wouldn't drive fine above 4500. it only sputters at low rpm but when above 4500 or so its fine.
Im out of ideas. sound familiar to anyone? PLEASE PLEASE SOME HELP GUYS...
by the way, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is on.

you can run a motor on 3cyl. so that's incorrect.. could be a bent or burnt valve only takes one, and if you did break the belt its a very good possibility. do a compression test on all 4 cyl i bet one of them will be 30+ lower than the others.
may seem like it runs fine above 4500 but chances are just sounds smoother because the motors running faster. that cylinder still works. just not very well
