Default I need an "easy" swap into a 91 Accord.........

Hey guys, recently my little beater '91 Accord DX decided to give up the ghost f22 wise. I am a total newb when it comes to Hondas and I was hoping that you guys could help me out. I want to put something more powerful in. I don't want to have to wire up any VTEC or have to fabricate anything. What are some good swaps that go right in and use the same wiring harness and tranny. Is there even such a swap? Also, does a new ECU have to be bought, or can the old one be reprogrammed. I did a search, but didn't find a whole lot.

So far, I have noticed:
-F20A
-H23 (does this work based on no fabrication?)
-F22 Ex motor and port and polish the head (any aftermarket cam for this motor?)
-???

Any input that you guys could give me would be great! I don't know much about this car, but I know a good bit about engines in general so any info would be MUCH appreciated Props to Honda.....they build a great car.

h22a prelude engine. 200 hp vtec. get them at this site for a decent price, around 30-50k miles on them.

he specifically said no vtec wiring or anything like that so I dont think an h22 is a good choice, and considering its just a beater car and you have the audi making some nice power, you should probably go h23 or jdm f22b. they are pretty much identical actually. not sure about the wiring harness stuff but they both have 160 hp, and you can use the tranny you have

Well, the JDM DOHC F22B is kinda like the Prelude non-vtec (H23). It has 160 hp and somewhere around 148 ft/lbs tq. People have said that it is an easy swap (just like the h22a). Personally, i Haven't done much research and i don't know a lot about the potential of an DOHC F22B - it's good for turbo tho!

But and easy swap should be any of the accord engines (90-97: minus the accord v6). But you should most definetly look at an H23 prelude non-vtec engine.

I just swapped in the F20a1 into my 90' Accord. It was what ALL of the engine importers in my area (portland, or) were subbing for the stock f22a in my car. It was cheap $650 with 12mo/12k warranty and used all the same parts. Be prepared to drop some money on seals/gaskets. I spent about $200 more on misc parts like those partly to be safe and the warranty isn't honored if you don't.

Mine was dirty as all hell see link below, but runs fine now.
