the b20 block sleeve is thicker than a gsr block, I don't know about boosting b20 block.

What?????? b20 block sleeve is thicker? man I heard everything now.. You shouldn't be giving misinformation. If you know anything about the blocks the gsr bore is 81mm whereas the b20 are 84mm. But the problem is that the b18a/b Blocks are also 81mm and the b20 block is basically a bored out b18a/b block therefore the walls are thinner than the Gsr.

OP I would keep the Gsr instead. Its reliable and could also be built. Why trust someone else's Frankenstein b20?

The GSR motor is build to rev high, and the B20 is a light truck motor...it wasn't ever meant to rev high. Then it's slapping a head on that you don't know if they did everything correctly on.

Keep the car with the b18c1

a properly built b20 is the definite win. It depends how the motor was built, what parts were used, and how much attention to detail there was. A b20 is the same thing as a b18, expect bigger.

Dunno what sorta rubbish ppl are saying about thinner cylinder walls etc, but I have no proof.

b20 all the way. vtec is the replacement for displacement but a b20 has both.

Rubbish? You said the b20 is the same thing as a b18. Look at the numbers. Same crank but different bore specs. If you actually think, the b20 is a bored out b18 which makes it 84mm.. This means that the walls are thinner than a b18b block which is 81mm. Do you understand now? Do you understand why people get 81.5mm oversized pistons? You think they can just fit it into a 81mm bore or would they have to bore it out to .5mm more? Now try to bore out that b18b block to lets say 86mm.. What do you think will happen to the cylinder walls if it wasn't sleeved? THINK!!

I'm tired of people not using their head and just posting up stupid ignorance thoughts that are misleading to new users.. Either post up correct information or don't post up anything at all.
