Default UHHH 87' HELP (various ?'s, swaps, conversions etc)

WHAD UP HT

ok so the other day i decided to sell my eg, and ive owned a 91' crx si that i didnt get into too much so i got rid of it, but this time i found a

minty *** 87' crx si unmolested all stock never been fidled with other than maintence, but to my suprise it was shaped hella different comparing it to my previous 91' si

so being somewhat new to the front end/exterior conversion side of things

my few questions are these, (pics are down below for refering too, i guess you could say)

- is my 87' compatable with a jdm 91' front end? or even a ussdm 91'?
-if so what will i need to make it happen?

- or if i purchased a carbon fiber hood, would it delete that front end piece ontop of the bumper?

- can i fit 91' tail lights?

-when it comes time to buy mods/parts/whatev, will 88-91 parts fit with no modification oem or not?

uhh that might be it for now...THANKS HT!

Check out http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ for the carbon fiber hoods, sunroofs and rear spoilers. The CF hoods replace the hood and the header piece (the piece between the head lights).

I have to say, that is a nice looking rear spoiler on your car. Did you make it? Previous owner? Give us a little background on that car!

nothing will bolt up from 88-91 crx's except the 88 seats and wheels.. if you want an 88-91, buy one.

i see you selling this within 2 months anyways.

Probably for the best. I would hate to see that car get molested with some front end swap and mismatched body panels.

well its my car and its not about whats liked and whats not, personally im not a fan of the 87 front ends, but taking all this into consideration im probably not going to fiddle with it too much,

maybe some rota zero plus's and have it lowered, but thats about it

t-bars would be torsien bars. panhard bar is what locates the rear axle on these cars. guess it's more an inside joke. sorry. good luck with sale.

sorry to break the news to everyone but first off, DOHC ZC IS NOT A BOLT IN SWAP!!!! the DOHC D16A1 from a 1986-89 Acura integra is a bolt in affair but its not worth it at all, it is NOT a ZC like everyone keeps calling it! it has a base 113hp (86-87) or 115hp (88-89). it bolts directly into ALL 1984-87 civics. 1988 is when the Civics went a different route. followed by the Integra a couple years later in 1990. the 1988+ JDM ZC is for 1990-2001 spec Integras and 1988-2000 spec Civics in regards to engine / torque mount locations. DA1, DA3, EW1, and the EAs are completely different. they dont even have a passenger side upper tranny mount. and as for the JDM EF front end, not a chance of fitting. the EFs are wider than the EWs. its like those retards who thought it was cool to put DC2 front ends on EGs. which if you didn't already know, DC bodys are wider than EGs by about an inch. which makes a hell of a difference when trying to put fenders together for it. if your looking to mod this thing out, start saving cuz everything you can imagine will be either custom made, or a super rare gem / discontinued part. as already mentioned, these cars use torsion bars in the front as springs. as opposed to the double wishbone settup your used to in all 1988+ Hondas. now though they DO have height adjusting nuts, i don't recommend messing with it unless you have aftermarket shocks with adequate suspension stroke for lowered ride height. the rear does have springs and shocks but cannot be lowered without first making or finding an adjustable Panhard bar to keep everything alligned and at equal height. also mentioned is Hasport and Innovative do make a mount kit to put a B series / 88+ D series in the EW, EA, and DA3s but its commonly thought to be overpriced and you still have to weld the passenger side bracket on.

Although this thread was necro'd when you responded it, the DOHC ZC was first in the JDM 3G Civic Si and 1G CR-X Si. It has a brown valvecover. That version is compatible with this car, and has 130PS same as the 88-95 DOHC ZC.
