Hi guys, so this is the seccond part of my journey to Accord Type-R Turbo.

Car now runs on E85 bioethanol. I got it all sorted out, but got the turbo broken on dyno so now waiting for a replacement.

Lowered on NEX coilovers. Lots of stuff done.

Front clip still needs pro respray.

Future plans for CF hood, fenders and boot.

Last time on dyno i ended up loosing fuel pressure at 5200 rpm and 2.3 bars overpressure so i ordered a new fuel pump. Will use an already installed walbro intank in conjuction with swirl pot.

Ordered this OBX 800lbs pump. How much is it in Liter/Hour?

Nice to see this one back up. Looks like you got everything in there nice and tight.

As for that OBX pump. OBX doesn't list a pump that pushes 800lb/hr for the 1600hp. OBX Fuel Pumps

That ebay auction you linked to is a wee bit off. The closest one that is around the 1700hp N/A is the one listed for 1900hp N/A - 1400hp FI. It has a max flow rate of 650lb/hr @ 45psi. That is approx. 410 l/hr. One would think that should be good enough.

The highest one is rated for 2200hp N/A & 1700hp FI @ 1000lb/hr. That = approx. 630 l/hr. The lowest pump they have listed is rated for 700HP N/A and 500HP FI @ 450lb/hr = approx. 284 l/hr

Have spent more than 4 years now fixing different things that either broke or i wasnt satisfied with.

Making really high power and keeping reliablity is one hard quest. Really.

 

my eyeballs just melted from PURE EPICNESS!

 

The only problem that i have is undershood overheating due to large manifold. It really heats everything up very very fast.

Will have to do more heat wrapping everywhere.

 

It takes money to go fast and retain reliability. If you go cheap, it may be fast but it won't last!

I know it may look rice, but have you ever thought about installing a couple turbo hood vents to help dissipate the under hood heat?

 

I have thinked about vents, but i cant imagine what kind of vents i would be satisfied with. 99% of what i have seen looks kinda cheap.

But at the same time i know that in my case i dont have much options. Just have to look at what kind would be the best looking.

 

You may have answered it in your other thread, but did you ever find out what the noise was in the cylinder head area??
Also was it the Mahle Pistons that tore up the cylinders in your first build??

Been waiting to see progress, as certain aspects of this build have been VERY interesting (turbo mani, intercooling, etc.).

Well perhaps an option would be something like the TRD Supra hood? (Kinda what you were suggesting Ghost?)

There's a picture example. Obviously you could put the openings in different spots for whatever works best but it would still provide a cleaner hood look. Those really look pretty damn good on Supras. It would at least take care of a decent amount of radiant heat. Idk, just a thought.

Yes, youre correct, this is the only option i have been looking at. Just make a decent holes and cover them in plain black metal mesh.

 

Im wondering how to make a propper vacuum in venting system. I have done some research and there is number of ways.

Leave vent from catch tank just open.
Pake a connection to filter housing before turbo, there is vacuum or at least should be.
Make an true racing inspired attachemnt to exhaust downpipe and use exhaust velocity to create a low pressure condition in attached tube, after some heat resistand flex pipe connect it to catch tank.

Probabbly the most effective method would be exhaust one? Does anybody have real experience with this?

Because going over 2 bars overpressure its a fact that you can get some pressure in engine bottom and i dont want that.

So does anybody knows how well vacuum from exhaust works?

The last one has a LOT of info. Haven't searched through it all yet.

Looks like you need to use fittings of a certain angle to make it happen from the exhaust, but otherwise it's an interesting setup. Hope some of that helps.

 

What kind of heat exchanger you used for your intercooler setup, which car it came from? What are the dimenssions? What is the pupose of this car? Drag race? If so it would be nice to se you next year in one of the events here in Lithuania.
