b18b1 Wiring Harness Question
Ok i just bought a 91 civic that had a b18b1 that was out of a 98.. It was a clean swap but the motor is blown and i bought another b18b1 that came out of a 94 and i was told that it is an LS. Ok so now my question is........ Will the 94 b18b1 work with the 98 b18b1 wiring harness??? Im sure it seems like a dumb question to some of you guys but i just dont want to bolt it in and the harness isnt for that motor...
the harness in your car now is actually a stock harness that may have been modified slightly to work with the b1. it will work just the same on a 94 engine, no problem there.
the harness that i have is for the b18 tho i just kno that the motors are two different years... i know all the plugs arent the same so what happens to the ones that dont get connected? is that gunna stop the car from running??
the harness you have works on the b18 yes but what i'm telling you is it is still a stock harness. you never use a different harness from the stock one unless doing a k-swap.
the 98 engine would have been obd2a and the 94 engine is obd1. now i imagine that it's not running an obd2 ecu and is most likely obd1 or obd0. so use your old ecu and distributor and the rest of your harness will plug directly into the 94 engine.
