This is kinda noob but I don't see any place on the cold air intake where the sensors attach to?

 

Then your intake must be a cheap one.

 

It's AEM?

 

If your aem hybrid intake than there won't be any access hole if the carb legal one there will be two access hole and one vaccum plug.

 

So the sensor goes into a hole?

 

you could put it that way : did you get the aem intake for your year car? obd2 cars have the AIR temp sensor on the intake arm usually so if you got a aem for a different year it may not have the sensor in the correct spot or even a place to mount it right,
