Default Rear sway bar question

I have a '91 Civic Si we use for an stock car racer. We race on a 1/4 mile oval and we cannot put on any performance parts (motor or suspension). I am wondering if there is any effect to placing a spacer (I'm thinking 1 inch to start) between the right rear sway bar and the attachment point on the underbody? Will this help or hurt in any way? I was told by lowering this end it should help with turn in stability. Any insight would be appreciated.

if youre only turning left, then preloading the swaybar would have a measurable affect. if thats what youre thinking, i really am not sure what you said.

Well I guess pre-loading would be the effect of the spacer. That makes sense. Just wondering if it would decrease understeer, or increase it.
