Default Todays performance review: GSR tranny rebuilt to ITR specs + JDM FD

I just got back tonight from CHEETAH's house after leaving the car there for a week to have my tranny rebuilt.

I threw out all my GSR internals and replaced them with new B16A/ITR 1-5th gears with new synchros, added a JDM FD, 7lb. Fidanza flywheel, Exedy street clutch, and a Kaaz 1.5 way LSD (which was already in the tranny).

All I have to say is wow, the car revvs up much faster and the RPM's are higher.
At 60 MPH in 5th gear my car revs at 3500 RPM's. I had the choice of going with a GSR 5th but I weanted to be extreme...but I'll live with it.

in 5th gear on the highway, passing other traffic is real easy. Previously I had major problems shifting gears, but now, everything shifts like brand new, no more grinds nada.

Anyhow, all I need to do now is break in the clutch properly and try to catch some autocross or track events before the season is out.

After driving for a few hours and getting stuck in traffic on the way home, I imagine how much crazier the ATS FD will be, but for now, I'll stick with my set-up.

from autocrossing.com
205/50/15 tire, 4.785 FD, ITR 1-5th gears, redline 9K RPM

1st= 40 MPH
2nd= 61.3 MPH
3rd= 88.5 MPH
4th= 116.6 MPH
5th 152.2 MPH
RPM top gear at 70 MPH= 4139
RPM at 60 MPH 5th gear= 3500 RPM

damn I hope u have a not so loud exhaust... I normally drive 80mph on the highway and at constant 4K+rpm buzzing is annoying after a while.
Im glad I swapped a GSR tranny on my lsvtec

How much did the 1-5 gears cost you with synchros.

I have the same gearing too, it fugging rocks except for the slow *** cruising on the highway (to save gas).

Either way, still well worth it.

Did you buy your gearing brand new or used???
If so how much did you pay for the gearing and how much did you pay for new syncroes????
let me know, I to need a GSR tranny rebuild in the near future

I have an ITR tranny, and still insist on doing 80. I cannot break my habit My gas mileage sucks also.

It was used but in great shape. I know that sometimes buying used stuff can be bad or break down, but I trust the guy I brought it to. we've known each other for a very long time and I doubt that he'll see me garbage.

I'm cool with rolling around at 60 MPH.....

If anyone tries to toy with me, I'll just downshift, floor it and give them a beating they wont forget
