Default 95 accord coupe(cd7) rebuild, reboost, paint, extras

UPDATE: LAST PAGE 6-6-2011

6-29-2010
well i have had my car for almost 4 years. i was away for 2 years and now i decided it is time for fresh paint, either a swap or a built f22b1 and many extras.
current setup
kyb agx/neuspeed race springs
ST sway bars
energy suspension bits
front camber kit

rev hard manifold
t3/t04e
greddy bov
knockoff tial WG
fmic
stage 2 clutch/flywheel
450cc dsm
chipped p28
aem fuel rail
aem alternator pulley
odyssey pc680 battery

after being boosted for 4 years(30,000miles) my turbo seals and some exhaust valves began leaking some oil. a new head and turbo would have fixed this, but i do everything the hard way.

a week ago i pulled the motor and tore it down. if i keep this motor it will get:
+1 overbore to 86mm
bisimoto pistons 8.2:1
bisimoto rods
acl rod & main bearings
larger turbo(either t60-1 or gt35r)
larger injectors
explicit speed performance mounts and traction bars
f23 intake manidfold & maxbore tb
valve job etc etc
more i missed i am sure

i also removed abs and will be converting to non abs stuff once i paint the engine bay.
so as of today(6-29-2010) i have motor out, everything removed from engine bay, degreased most of the bay and started to sand the trouble areas(shock towers, in front of shock towers and where battery tray and abs accumulator used to be).

so far my only hang up is how to smooth over the rubber seam sealer i have sanded down. in some spots i can take it completely off without being unsafe, but in other areas i can only sand sown so much. any ideas as to what type of filler to use here?? well any ways here are some pics!! enjoy!!!! follow me on my journey!!!!!

just for reference here is what it used to look like!!!

enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!

6-29-2010 evening
i decided to spray a little primer to see better where i have to sand more and obviously fill so i can smooth things out eventually. any ideas as to what type of filler to use and should i take it down to bare metal??

see that line up the middle? bondo? metal glaze? what should i use?

a lot of work to do there!!

also i am thinking about a dark color like a brown - how do you all think that would fare?? all i want to do is smooth out the area around and in front of the shock towers so it looks cleaner and smoother. they globbed seam sealer all over the place in my bay from the factory and i am just trying to clean that up before my color change.

today i managed to get 99% of that excess rubber sealer off with a few coats of aircraft paint stripper and some elbow grease and scrapers.

here is what the excess rubber looks like at first - wavy

after some elbow grease and 2-3 hours

i believe the first ones are the ones after i sanded and the ones towards the bottom are before sanding, they are backwards - i believe.

now i need to figure out if i should use some filler in some spots or just paint(i mean i still have more sanding and scraping to do - i just mean after i am done sanding and scraping).

body filler?? yay? nay? i am thinking about hitting the flat parts at the left and right( where the abs accumlator and battery used to be) - there will be no more accumulator so i want that area clean and my battery is an odyssey pc680 which is ounted to the frame rail - so that battery area will also be empty.

today i made brackets for my fuse box which is now test fitted under the dash. i removed srs wiring and computers and i also took out my passenger side airbag and just removed the top of the bag thats visible on the dash - so i have a dummy airbag now.

my batteries ran out on my camera so i couldnt take any underdash pics. i will get batteries tonight or tomorrow.

airbag without lid

airbag cover/lid by itself

bottom part of airbag cover/lid by itself with brackets to go back in dash.

i also called my autoparts supply place and they need to order my some products for my engine bay. more on that once i get what i need.

today i sanded 90% of the shock towers and areas forward of that. i also knocked the rust of my drivers side rear quarter which i am going to hopefully repair in the next week or so.

here are pics of my mounted fuse box under the dash.

sanded engine bay pics

more pics tomorrow of the rust hole(only spot on the car)
and more sanding tomorrow and possibly degreasing some.

today i decided to tackle the rust hole in my drivers side rear quarter. got some fiberglass repair kit and off to work.

before sanding and a smoke for size reference

after sanding

after fiberglass

then i decided to break out the sander and get to the dings on the rear quarter as well.

went out to sand sown the fiberglass repair for my rust hole to see what it looks like.
so far this is what i got. i have a few low spots in the middle and around the edges where i tried to feather edge as best as i could and i have a pinhole on the edge of the repair! i am trying to figure out if i should fill in some fiberglass there without the cloth to repair it before i use filler on that spot.

i have been working on the outside of the car where it needs attention and so far so good "i think"!!!!

i filled in my fiberglass and smoothed it out as well as two minor dents in the same area and smoothed them out. there are some spots on the fiberglass repair that seems not 100%flat as it should be but pretty damn close and i dont want to over sand that area. any tips there? also i featheredged with 220 on my sander then went to 320 on a pad then 400 wet to smooth it all out.

once these repairs are done i am going to 400 wet the entire car and seal.
heres todays pics.

let me know what you guys think so far!!

cd7 BTW, not cd5...

today i wet sanded the driverside and had to fill 2 minor dings. i found a frog in my garage as well and he wont leave!! i might try to catch him and get him a good home. tomorrow i am getting the rest of my sandpaper supply i need so i dont have to keep buying as i go, and a durablock. hopefully i will be in paint within the month.
