90 Accord EX automatic with 415K: My brake lights were staying on and I replaced the plunger/solenoid that operates when the brake pedal is depressed. I also replaced the rubber plug on the brake lever that the plunger on the solenoid touches.

The cruise control was operating prior to this replacement, now it isn't. I checked the connection to the solenoid....OK. I also checked the fuse....OK. When I depress the set or resume buttons on the steering wheel...no response and no light in the dash. Anyone got an idea on what next?

 

you may have gotten a bad brake switch.

 

Also double check the "adjustment" between the new switch and the new "stop". If it is "out" by a little bit that could cause the issue as well.

 

Thanks for the response. I'll tighten up the clearance. I have the brake lights working but I will run the switch a little closer to see if that helps.
