I remember reading on another forum to just cut the fuel to the cylinder. But how would I go on doing that.?

if i was you i leave like that, and try to fix it because late it going to brake other stuff, for example u are runing on tree pistes there is a imbalance on one part of the engine and this will make problems, good luck with that

most likely

@OP you DID NOT throw a rod if you didnt put a hole through your block or oil pan (and in rare cases the head :S)

how the hell did you conclude you threw a rod if you didnt rip opent he motor or didnt see an exit for the rod

Disconnect the fuel injector connector from the bad cylinder, isnt it a little embarrassing to drive around with all that noise coming out from under the hood.

Sounds like spun bearing. Run it til it blows or find a cheap replacement.

if its not knocking too bad you may be able to fix with minimal dmg. the last thing i would do is "run it until it blows"

And no, cutting the fuel to the cylinder wont change ****. Its still hooked to the crank, which still rotates.

Ouch that sucks, but as all these guys have said, if you try and run it sooner or later something will go and with it the whole engine. Also, I notice your location is 3OH!3, +1 for Colorado..lol

Ok I found out what the problem was. A tranny mount was loose lol. Made a clanking noise and it seemed like it was in the engine.. Phew. Also I tried to take it out for a drive but it died on me. I tried to turn it on once again but it would just turn over not turn on. I checked the battery and everything.. Tried jumping it but to no avail. Any suggestions? And thanks, Where you from 98cx?
Cap rotor and wires seem fine? Really confused on this one

OP check for fuel/ spark, then check timing report back your findings

incase you didnt know how to check for fuel/ spark

spray flammable liquid into your throttle body and try to crank it, if the engine starts it has no fuel

take a spark plug wire out of the and stick a fresh (not rusty) screwdriver into the spark plug area, put the metal area of the screwdriver VERY close to a piece of the body but not touching it, then crank it

if you see electricity jump from the screw driver to the body then you have spark, if you dont see the electricity then you dont have spark

I know the problem is resolved, but if it's a D series, what's wrong with running it until it blows? They are cheap and have the lowest power output of any motor that you can run in a civic. They're not even worth rebuilding.

Thanks for all your replies, Linked I checked everything and it seemed to be fine. I was thinking about running until it blows to be honest and just buy a d16 for cheap. And I will check in the morning carfreak thanks for your help really appreciate it =]

a d16, even non-vtec, with p29 pistons will make more power than a stock b16 or stock b18b. in fact an bone stock sohc vtec makes the same tq but with a wider band. they are fantastic commuter engines - super easy to work on, parts are readily available because of people like you, etc.

not everyone wants to spend thousands of dollars to make their 16 second commuter car a 14 second commuter car.
