Just yesterday all of the following issues happened at once after I started the car:

1. Panel Brake light is constant on
2. The wiper intermittent setting no longer works
3. Dome light doesn't work
4. Car alarm no longer auto sets
5. Headlight chime reminder no longer works
6. A/C no longer cools

My research seems to indicate that I need to replace my Multiplex Control Unit. I have a 2001 Honda Civic 2Dr DX. I can find a MCU for 1999/2000 EX. Does anyone know if that would that be compatible with my model? I'm not sure if MCUs are standard and all the same.

 

Have you checked any of your fuses? I know it seems like a generic reply, but it's always the first place I look. Check the "Back Up" fuse in your Under-Hood fuse box. It's Number 9 and is 10amp.

I don't think you can use an MCU from a 99/00. Pretty sure it has to be from an 01-05, but I'm not 100% on that. I've never looked into it.

 

I have an 01 Civic EX - same problem as other posts happened Today ironically, Dome light does not light while door is Open, Power locks don't respond to remote or door switch, A/C does not cool, and Brake light stays lit on dash.....

All forums/threads point to MCU under steering column,
Honda Part**** 38200-S5A-A31, about $150 bucks online from Honda parts now. Will let you know what happens when I replace it.
