Default Best site to buy your swap(Confessions)

Alright I'm going with a b16a1 swap in my CRX I know everywhere I need to go to get everything I need. I'm just curious what site is the best to buy your swap? & I did use the search bar on multiple occasions re-worded it and still came up dry. So if I could get some feed back on quality, moneys worth, best price. Sites I've checked out and considered, www.hmotorsonline.com , www.nagasakimotors.com . Thats pretty much it. Thanks, Randy.

Honestly, that's like asking which grocery store has the best lettuce. You have to go down and check yourself. The guy who had a mint motor last week might be left with only junk today.

Ideally, if you live in a major city, visit multiple JDM importers and find the motor with the best compression. Don't let shiny valve covers distract you, turn the motor over.

no we care about awesome customer service and 110% engine start guarantee and thats what steve at hmotors supplies! on top of that all of hmotors engine and accessories looks like it just came off the show room... and warranty for engine is a big *** hassle for people ordering out of state.

I dont know what type of customer service you need for an engine warehouse person.

But call Soshin, they answer, you ask for motor, they look and tell you the price and mileage between 30-50k...

they're engines comes with whatever peripherals attached to the motor at time of arrival. In my case, came with flywheel, dizzy, IM/EM.

The concern about buying out of state doesnt concern me, so i dont care about that.

I never personally bought from Hmotors but several friends have and all motors showed up w/ all components (including ac compressor/ps pump), maybe a broken sensor here and there from shipping...

One friend bought a jdm d15b from jdmenginedepot in north jersey...came w/ all sorts of broken **** and ran like crap

Another friend bought from a place in NYC and the LMAs were shot

Basically I'm looking for the best site/product like mentioned above about compression. I'm just want to hear some feedback like (Yeah I got screwed or had the best experience with them) I just want to make sure I spend my money wisely. I know theres a few people near Chicago, I believe its a rather known name if you live in the area "EricJapanMotors" So my question from here has anyone got a bad motor from H-MOTORS? I know theres always a chance you can get a lemon of the bunch but pretty much all around there motors are always in basically tip top condition? Thanks guys your really relieving me its not every day you go blow a couple grand on a honda motor, well its not to that point with me yet at least someday though hahaha.

Thanks for your first post. This one well not to be rude but, warranty with a motor I'm motor than likely going to beat the hell out of would be nice, but it doesn't seem practical your telling me if I blew my motor they'd replace it? If they do thats hard to believe but if its true its nice. From what I've read H-Motors comes with the 100% start up warranty In this case I'm definitely leaning towards H-motors. Compression can be a little off planing on boring and turbo'in. Yes my cars on cheap insurance when I don't drive it, **** it has a rattle can paint job at the moment it doesn't need full coverage like a S2K,or any nicely restored honda.

They will replace the motor if the following occurs:

-Bent valves
-Piston Detonation
-Broken Rod
-Any other internal problem

They will not replace the motor if you have an overheating issue, like warpage.

dont u ask question before you buy a motor? dont you want honest and straight foward answers to your questions? i mean unless your that ballin to walk in and say u want this or that motor without asking questions?

well my point is that warranty is useless unless u live like 10 miles away from the distributor that you bought the motor from...half the time they will argue that you dog the **** out of your motor.

Not so much a warranty if it blows up but a good warranty if you find that it's damaged on the first start...

Alot of shops only guarantee that it will start...regardless of damage

Well of course I personally ask questions. They're motors are all compression tested, they can give you the results if you ask for them.

It just seems like a no brainer to me...30 day, or 180 day warranty. Pretty sure you arent going to find out that you have a crappy motor within the first 30 days.

A company offering a longer warranty shows they have trust in their product.

They also have a start up warranty, if it dont start, bring it back.

HA! Hmmotors looks shady to me. they wont give you there adress unless you order, thats dumb. and they never have the motor you're looking for in stock.

the lagged it for 1 month on a buddy of mine on a single cam ZC. C'mon seriously?
he went to CNCmotors and they had 3 sitting in the lot and it was a local pick up.

I called up Hm and they didnt pick up, i called CNC they picked up gave me all the info i asked for without hesitation.

idk i'm just saying. and i wouldnt buy a motor from anywhere that doesnt offer warranty on them. and the "start up" guarantee is BS i can say that too but doesnt mean all your components are good and will last, and what if you're a noob and dont know how to wire in a swap and ef it up, wheres your start up warranty now
