Default To Ridgeline or not...

So I have a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6, that we love and an 03' Odyssey that's more of a necessity since we have kids. We're stationed in MT and don't have a 4WD/AWD vehicle or anything to haul my quad.

We love the Accord but unfortunately it's not the most economical vehicle to haul 3 car seats. I stumbled across this http://www.missoulahonda.com/newandu...Ridgeline.aspx. The price isn't bad, but the miles are high. I've had older Hondas that ran to well over 200k without issues, not too sure how the newer ones go. My Accord is running great with 97K.

I still owe about $9,500 on the Accord but I'm thinking I should still be able to pull at least 8 on a trade in, which wouldn't hurt too much. I'm just looking on for praises or gripes about Ridgline owners and opinions on trading my "wannabe sports sedan" for a SUV.

My cons so far are just missing having a car. I love having the contrast of fun to drive vechicle and the all out practicality of a mini van. On the flipside the Ridgeline would fill a nice void for hauling the ATV, kids, gear and can handle the weather up here. I'll just be missing the "fun" to drive factor...

Decisions... decisions...

Thanks!

- If you can afford the gas, go for it. Ridgeline is very hungry. Forget the EPA numbers, it's hungry.

- Honestly, have you looked at crew-cab trucks? Lot more selection, better value, power, almost the same real world MPG.

- 03 Ody. Look up trans issues. Consider later models.

The gas issue doesn't concern me too much, although it might once this goes from idea to reality. If it happens.

We had a 92' Chevy, but ended up selling because we had orders to move but they got cancelled.

We've looked at full size trucks in the past, and some smaller models. But we love Hondas, there is just no ignoring that. My wife absolutely loves the Accord and the only way to get her out of it (possibly) would be the Ridgeline. We're not in need of a full size truck, so the Ridgeline would fill the gap between people mover and "most stuff" hauler.

The bed is just big enough to haul most of what we would need for the little bit of time we spend in the mountains here. And it would be a vehicle that handles the weather better than the two we have now.

I haven't had the opportunity to drive one or see it up close yet, they are kinda scarce here in MT.

We had the recall issue fixed on our Odyssey with the trans, so far so good. I don't forsee the Odyssey going anywhere any time soon.
