Well I'm looking at an eg coupe with a d16y6....never heard of the motor....I asked my buddies and no one never heard of it....I would like to get some info on the motor....like how much HP.....what car it comes from.....obd1 or obd2.....etc...

 

Doublecheck your engine code.

I've never heard of a d16y6. There was a d16a6, a d16z6, and a d16y5, y7, and y8. I looked through every Honda engine list I have, and am about to start looking through the EG manual, and I've never seen a y6.

Well it says d16y6 when I looked at it....so I'm kinda clueless..

 

I think Vindicator is correct (as usual), that motor doesn't exist. Recheck your sources.I certainly have never seen or heard of it.

There is a D16Y6. It's a 1.6L SOHC VTEC-II engine that was in the VTi and VTi-S sedan in Pakistan and New Zealand (as best as I can tell those are the countries - other information is from Honda). It's similar to a D16Y8.

Needless to say, I've never heard of one being in the US. I'd check that engine code again. Maybe take some photos for us.

its basically the same as a y8 i think its just Acura version
