Hello ya, I have a 99 civic LX model. The problem I am encoutering is that when driving and the engine gets HOT the engine auotmatic shut-off even when stopping at a redlight (during traffic hours). On the other hand, I have encountered many times on the freedway where the engine automatic shut-off and it scared that h**k out of me. I have changed the starter relay and main relay and it still doesn't solve the problem and I can't find what is causing this issue and I NEED ALL HONDA FANS HELP!!!! (advice and suggestion) would be appreciate it......

 

Have you taken it to the dealership for them to take care of the ignition switch recall? (I believe that's what it was)

I had the same issue with my 99 a year or so ago. I would be driving, and the car would shut off without warning, or sometimes sputter.

Dealership took care of it.

 

what if it just sputters at the red light...it doesnt shut off but sputters an takes a while to get power back
