Got a 97 hatchback. I put a magnaflow cat back system on and now my check engine
Light comes on and says o2 sensor. My question is would a oem honda o2 sensor fix the problem? Car runs fine just want to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Is the code for the O2 sensor itself or the heater element in the sensor?

 

Sometimes oxygen sensors can reverse polarity and cause a DTC after installing aftermarket exhaust components. I recomend removing the oxygen sensor, taking the pins out of the connector, reversing the white and green wires and plugging them back in. I've seen it a thousand times. Guaranteed fix.

 

agreed^ i've seen this acouple of times with people using aftermarkets, not a problem that can't be fixed, good luck.
