Default 2004 CRV Needs A/C Compressor

My buddy needs an a/c compressor set-up for a 2003 crv, does any-1 happen to know if this compressor is the same compressor used in civics/del sol/integras?

Just trying to find out what other models this a/c unit can be found in to find a cheaper solution for him. Thanks guys

edit: mis-typed the title, its a 2003

Make sure if it is a Variable Displacement or not, sorry I do not know, but many newer vehicles use VD's these days. I dont know what year they started for Honda but I have seen many posts around the web where folks didnt know this fact and put the wrong type compressor on.

Contact your local junk yard and ask what other Honda compressors will fit your application, they have references for this type of info. Good luck with the job, are you somewhat of an AC man. Use a genuine Honda, even if its used or rebuilt or new.

A very common problem with many 02-04 Crv's. Honda has recently issued a TSB regarding replacement of other major A/C components due to the compressor contaminating the system. Ive replaced so many of these that I've lost count. Some have come in with the compressor cracked in half, others have just had the pulley splines broken off. Before the service bulletin the usual replacement items were, expansion valve, compressor, coil, clutch assembly and of course the receiver/dryer bag. Its not cheap but otherwise those are decent vehicles.
