Default where to get a good bolt-in cage

Where can I get a good bolt-in roll cage for a reasonable price for my '95 hatchback? i don't want anything fancy just either a 4 or 6 point. I just want something for when my project car is ready to start auto-x, but it will still be a daily driver so I want to be ableto carry passengers without having to climb over a bar to get into my car. Thanks guys

http://www.ioportracing.com for Autopower rollbars (4 point) & rollcages (6 point).

BTW, the back seat will be useless. Pad the crap out of it.

Another option is to talk to one of the members here who plans to remove their bolt-in cage and replace it with a custom welded one. You'd save some cash that way.

Jeff is right. I got my cage from a guy here on honda-tech for a good deal. Thing was shipping to me mostly assembled. The thing about it was i wanted a cage right away and if you call up Ioportracing they will tell you it could be 4-6 weeks for you to get your cage. Also you over pay for the truck freight IMO. $125 freight charge. i think ioport is making some money on that end of the deal.

You pay for shipping when it arrives at your door.

i am currently having a roll bar built by Kearney Racing, in Landover Md. They do excellent work, and i feel very confident in what they're doing. However they have told me that basically, autopower sucks. They've seen their cages and bars fail at the track in serious impacts, while the car itself holds together and the driver remains unharmed, the cage/bar still fails. Usually near the corner of the main hoop, John Kearney says they use too much heat in the welds, they're poor.

Just his $.02

Making a blanket statement can be misleading. What kind of cage material was it? ERW or DOM? Would any cage have survived? A AP cage saved my life. The corner @ the passenger roof/a pillar bent in & down about 2". All the welds held.

If I'd heard a custom shop tell me that a bolt-in alternative was just as good I'd have fallen over dead from surprise...

Yes, this is true. However i'm sure he is going on what he's seen in many years of race experience. The problem is... if an autopower bar was available for my car, i would have bought and installed one of them since it seems that people have had good luck with them, from what i've hear.
