Hi, I'm new here. I drive a 88 Civic Hatchback STD. I've been wanting to do a b16a1 swap for a long time but I'm not sure on exactly all the parts I need. I was planning to get all the stuff, and then spend a day with friends putting it in. I'm also confused about this dual point injection wire harness thingy. I don't get it. If I buy a complete swap, doesn't it come with a b16a1 ECU and wire harness? It would make sense to just put in the new ECU and route the b16a1 wire harness through the firewall and plug all the sensors in the right spots, so why would a rewired harness be necessary? Any help would be appreciated.

 

you use your existing wires when doing the swap, so if you don't have MPFI yet, you wont be wired for it.
