Default What is a good budget swap to put in a eg sedan!!

Hey whats up Ht! i own a eg sedan and i am on a budget for a swap. i just have a couple questions.

1. Is the LS swap a good upgrade and still selling for a budget.

2. should i get an usdm ls swap or jdm swap.

3. What mounts are required for this swap? Which mounts on my eg sedan can be used for the LS swap and which one will i need.

4. whats the max i should i spend on a Ls swap minusing the axles, and ecu.

Help please!!

Budget wise as far as swaps, either LS or B20, or just work the single cam over if its a Z6 and make it a turbo, don't mess with the 1.5's

H series are cheap too but require a good deal of work especially using an hseries tranny

Ls/vtec can be done cheap or really expensive, can make little power or a ton, they are the most versitale build avalible because they are not factory... If you take your time they are a real good bang for buck swap.

If you want to keep it simple and pay a little more get a gsr (b18c1) swap. but it's not really budget swap style....

it's up to you.

i would get the b20 out of like a 2000crv and just a ls tranny unless u soend more for a gsr

i would say no more than 1500 on the swap... but keep in mind sometimes its who you know or at least know where to find good parts....

if you were to play it safe and want enough money to set aside (for problems that may occur) id say 2000

Anyone ever just run the CR-V 5 speed tranny? My friend has a manual CR-V and the gears are actually pretty short, it may be quicker than if you used an LS tranny. I guess 5 speed CR-Vs are rare though.

I have never seen it done, or even a 5spd one for sale.

Do you mean good "low" budget swap? I'd say the B18B. Everyone has a "budget," just some have more room than others.

You can't, they're 4 wheel drive and aren't like any other B-series tranny anway. Cable shift instead of a linkage and different mounting points.

I'd say JDM D15B with optional LSD tranny, nice clutch an flywheel setup, i/h/e, and maybe a nice tune... Under $1k and well be about as reliable as it gets, still giving you plenty of potential if you plan on going faster...

All the 5 speed ones are. FWD was only offered with an automatic.

Yes, use either the CR-V B20 A/C Bracket or the Del-Sol VTEC bracket. Then bolt the EG D-Series Compressor to it. I personally use a B20 bracket with EG Compressor along with a B20 A/C Belt. Works great.

Not if you want to keep A/C working.
