completely dead? no cel's? can you jump start it?

when this happened to me it was the rotor in the dizzy, it came loose... previous owner was obviously a dumbass, didnt tighten it or something... cant believe it drove as long as it did with it so loose

Try cranking it while a buddy checks the inside the valve cover to see if the cam is spinning,....if it doesn't spin the timing belt snapped if it does spin.. it's your distributor either the rotor came loose or Ignition Module went bad.

This happened to me while i was pulling out of a parking lot recently. Have some one crank it while you check for spark. My problem was a burned out my ingition module which in turn burnt up my cap and part of my rotor.

so.............. what if the timing belt snapped and a valve is stuck down? wont that cause the piston to hit the valve and ruin the motor? how about trying to turn the crank by hand with a ratchet and if it gets hard to turn then that means there might be a problem with the timing belt or how about taking the upper timing cover off while doing that?
