Default wheel hop?

I have been experiencing what appears to be wheel hopping. Only when starting, in first right when I start going. It happens less when I drive it compared to my brother, where as he gets it to do it almost everytime. My front mount is broken so I was wondering if that is the sole reason why this is happening or could there be another reason. Engine: zc in 90 hatch

Driving regular, I think my brother pushes it a lot more than I do. I more baby the engine myself though its basically brand new and should be able to handle it. ~35k miles on engine.

Front mount missing? Yes. That's the big problem.

If it serms to happen when very slightly turning, like into another lane, then check ur shocks.

But put the front mount on. Before you do, you can stiffen it up by putting pieces of rubber inside the gaps. Eliminated any wheel hop I had before.

Front mount is missing. Its attached but basically broken. It needs replaced. Ill try the trick with filling it with rubber. Maybe thatll help we'll see.

Anyone else have any ideas?

the front mount coupled with some bad bushings in the front suspension are most likely the culprit. I would check all the bushings on the front LCA and radius rods as well.

Fwiw, and in my experience, poly radius rod bushings do nothing to affect wheel hop. I did this before stiffening the front mount.

Im actually thinking its the axle binding up. My friend had brand new axles, launched his car and it caused his axles to bind up and the car would "hop" when driving. Try swappin the axles and see if it fixes it.

it's not exactly wheel hop, it's more of a "shudder". like if you don't give it enough gas when starting off, except it's much more violent for lack of a better term.

it's under normal driving conditions, no racing or high revving or dropping the clutch.

the front vibration mount, the one that attaches at the front of the tranny, not technically a mount is torn. #14 in the pic below

my guess is that this is the culprit.

Sounds like the clutch. What kind of clutch do you have? If you got some gnarly clutch those things chatter like crazy when taking off slowly.

just my lame two cents.

If it was the front mount then it would only really do it when taking off from a light/stop, and would be more of a clunk then anything.

the clutch was supposedly replaced just before i bought the car, so less than 5000 miles. it looked fine, and so did the flywheel, when i did the swap 2 weeks ago.

it happens only when coming from a stop.

Oh if its only doing it when takin off from a stop then its most likely that front mount. I was thinking it was doing it constantly when driving

I have had that same mount broken on my car as well and it did not cause any wheel hop it just made a clunk everytime i got on and off of the gas. I am leaning more toward your flywheel. Did you torque your flywheel bolts down evenly and to spec and made sure you had the flywheel resurfaced prior to the clutch install. I currently have flywheel chatter when downshifting due to not resurfacing my flywheel maybe yours is more severe.
