I am looking for an automatic trans for a '99 Accord EX with F23A 4cyl motor. This is for my sisters car, and I will replace the tranny for her.

1) Any mechanical or gear ratio differences between the JDM version and the USDM version? Is anyone sporting a JDM one? I assume if I get a JDM one, I must swap out the sensors for the original USDM ones to interface properly with the USDM ECU?.

2) I live in San Diego and the "big 3" Honda Acura salvage yards by the border want big bucks for trannies with well over 100K miles. I would be willing to travel to OC, L.A., Riverside, or S.B. counties to find Honda Acura salvage yards up there.

3) That means I am looking for a reliable source with reasonable prices for a used tranny. I am seeing JDM trannies with the classic description of "35,000 - 40,000 miles" on eBay for $600-$700. I am a bit leary of JDM anything due to the usual lack of maintenance on JDM motors, which would probably also mean lack of fluid changes on JDM trannies.

4) If someone could point me to a lower mileage USDM tranny in that price range, I would be grateful.
