Default Throttle Body?

I met this fellow R owner the other day and he has a Spoon Throttle Body...my question is, what would I have to do to my car...have it tuned, etc. Or is it just a simple bolt-on? I figured before I get a CAI, I might as well get the throttle body...good or bad? thanks

From what I have seen/heard, a throttle body (spoon, itr, bored, or otherwise) actually yeilds somewhat low gains.
