Lets put it this way i just installed a 90 crx si cluster into a 89 crx si. Thinking it will work it doesnt. Car turns on though and everything. I just ran across this http://crxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=6184 but im not sure how to do this? switched power to cluster? whats all this mean. can someone translate and give me a how to? this is a pinout type of question.

 

you gotta repin your harness to run the 90 cluster in your 89.88-89 civic/crx have different pinouts than 90-91 civic/crx's.just search up the pinouts for it

 

I install my original cluster that i had laying there for the 89 crx si harness but no luck. does the same thing. only the brake and battery signs show up.
